Organic India, a conscious company that works with farms in northern India to grow Indian herbs, food, and spice crops, recently met with farmers in Azamgarh, India, to learn about the positive impact Organic India’s activities are having on the lives of thousands of farmers. The company works with 300 marginal farmers across 400 acres of land in Azamgarh, and more than 2,000 farmers across over 10,000 acres of certified organic land in India.
As part of Organic India’s commitment to its farmers’ well-being, three newly constructed water hand pumps and 40 new toilets were inaugurated at the gathering by CEO Abhinandan Dhoke.
“We used to have to travel two kilometers to collect water before this hand pump was put here. Now we don’t have to go anywhere, it’s right here! This is a great benefit for all of us,” said Prema Maurya, one of Organic India’s first female farmers.
