Professional Members
Professional member vacancies are for New Mexico massage therapists who are licensed.
Public Member
Public members and their spouses cannot have been licensed by the Massage Therapy Board at any time, nor can they have a financial interest in a school or establishment. Public members must also be New Mexico residents.
The Role of a Board Member
Board appointments are four-year terms. Members are responsible for overseeing the practice of massage therapy in New Mexico. Duties include overseeing licensure applications and renewals, adopting rules and regulations, establishing school curricula and instructor qualifications, and investigating complaints for disciplinary issues. Apply through the Governor's application site here if you are interested in serving on the New Mexico Board. The Board meets quarterly, with the next Massage Therapy Board meeting tentatively scheduled for March 3, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the Regulation and Licensing Department in Hearing Room 1 located at 2550 Cerrillos Rd. Santa Fe, NM 87505.
