Call for MTs: Week-Long Training in Elite Sports Massage for NFL Hopefuls

09/28/2015

XPE Sports and CORE Institute, two industry leaders in sports training and clinical sports bodywork, recently announced they will offer advanced certification training in CORE Sports & Performance Bodywork through a week-long program at their facility in Boca Raton, Florida.

Therapists will have the opportunity to provide manual therapy services to elite college football athletes as the athletes prepare for the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine. The therapists will study myofascial therapy protocols and structural integration strategies in the morning, then put these skills to real-life practice on athletes in the afternoon.

Tony Villani, MS, founder of XPE Sports, is known as the “speed guru” for hundreds of NFL athletes who return for off-season training at XPE Sports. His work has been featured on ESPN, CBS Sports, and the NFL Network. George Kousaleos, LMT, founder of CORE Institute, was general manager of the 1996 British Olympic Preparation Camps Sports Massage Team, co-director of the 2004 Athens Health Services International Sports Massage Team, and currently directs the CORE Sports Bodywork team, which provides the Florida State University football team with structural and myofascial bodywork. FSU Football has experienced a dramatic drop in soft-tissue injury rates during the past four seasons.

The application process for participation in this unique certification program will begin in October 2015. Participants will submit a professional resume, two letters of recommendation, proof of professional liability insurance, and perform telephone or Skype interviews.

For more information, please contact George Kousaleos at 850-222-8673 or geocore27@gmail.com.
