[Tips for Today]

Did you know that as an ABMP member you get an enhanced free account with MassageBook? Are you taking advantage of MassageBook’s therapist listing service? Have you set up your account so your clients can book their appointments online, whenever they want?
If you’ve heard great things about MassageBook but don’t know how to get started, follow these three simple steps. You’ll be up and running in just a few minutes.

1. Set Up Your Personal and Business Profiles
Begin by logging in or creating an account at www.massagebook.com/abmp. Once you have an account, filling out your online personal and/or business listings is easy. If you’re a practice owner, you’ll complete both an individual listing (which focuses on your skills, education, and experience)and a business listing (which focuses on your practice’s mission, services, and staff). One of the reasons MassageBook is so popular with clients looking for a massage is that it allows them to search by business or by individual practitioner.  Having a personal profile separate from a business profile makes this possible.
First: You
To complete your personal profile, simply navigate to the “Personal” tab and select the “Listing” section. You’ll be guided through adding a photo, a short bio, your education, license info, and any relevant experiences you’d like to share. This is also where you’ll share where you work, whether it’s your own practice, a clinic or spa, or a combination of both. Your personal bio is searchable and independent of any practice you may own.
Once your personal details have been added to create an individual listing, it’s time to build your business listing.
Second: Your Practice
This step is just like building your personal listing, only this time you’ll navigate to the “Business” tab and select the “Listing” section to get started. You’ll be asked to add location and contact information, business hours, photos, a description of your practice, and any services you offer.
Your completed listings can now be published to the directory to start working for you! Even if you don’t do anything else, you’re already in a better spot, since just having your listing on the MassageBook directory ensures your website will rank higher in search engine results. Visitors to your listings on MassageBook are also able to send you appointment requests by email, even if you don’t offer online scheduling.

2. Set Up Your Online Scheduling Calendar
Now it’s time to set up your online scheduling calendar so clients can book their own appointments online, anytime.
First, set up your individual availability for each day of the week. You can do this in the Personal > Availability section. If you offer outcall services, or work on an on-call basis, use the additional controls here to fine-tune your availability for these special cases.
Once your availability is set, review your online booking options in the Business > Settings section. You can control whether you wish to allow new clients to book online or only existing ones, and whether you wish to accept new clients through the MassageBook directory (a fee applies). You can even choose to have first-time clients (or everyone) prepay for their appointments online. For our setup purposes here, we’ll choose to only accept existing clients for now. Click the box, then scroll down and click “Save.”
Clients can now view your available appointment times and book their own appointments! Easy for them and you!

3. Add Your Listing to Your Facebook Page
Adding your MassageBook listing to your business’s Facebook page will allow people to book right from your Facebook page. If your business isn’t on Facebook (apart from your personal Facebook profile), it should be—that’s where your clients are.
Select “Listing,” then “Facebook Connect” in the left toolbar. Click the “Connect” button, enter your business’s Facebook information and password, and, voila, your MassageBook account is now integrated with your Facebook business page.
