Cancer survivors are a growing population in the massage industry. In this presentation, we will explore the world of cancer, including its possible causes and progression, current medical treatments and side effects, and how to modify massage to best serve your clients through oncology massage. Massage and cancer research studies will also be examined.

Susan G. Salvo has been a licensed massage therapist since 1982 and has taught since 1987. From her love of teaching, Salvo has written two textbooks that are used worldwide, and has also contributed to many other publications. Salvo was one of the initial task force members of the Massage Therapy Body of Knowledge Project. She is on the advisory board of the American Pregnancy Massage Association and has created several instructional massage videos on YouTube. Learn more at
