Video Course: Ethics Education

Cidalia Paiva

As health-care professionals we have made a professional promise to our clients and to society to behave ethically. But how can we keep this promise to society if we are not educated and informed in ethics? This course on ethics education focuses on several key questions that ethics educators need to consider and address, including: What should ethics education really be about? What are some of the basic concepts, distinctions, and principles we need to teach in ethics education? What is the relationship between law and ethics? How can we motivate, as opposed to merely inform, our students to behave ethically and to make their personal and professional integrity an important part of their ethical development? Finally, what should the future of ethics education look like? What are some of our next professional growth steps?
