Video Course: Cornerstones 22: Student Clinic as a Learning Experience
Cindy Williams
Student clinics are meant to be an extension of the massage school experience, providing valuable hands-on time for learners before they head out as professionals. But not all student clinics are created the same. In many cases, instructors put students into treatment rooms with little to no supervision, instead of using student clinic for what it was designed to be—a learning experience. It begs the question: What value is the student clinic experience to learners and their educational process, and is it being used to that end? This course, the 22nd in Cornerstones: The ABMP Instructor Development Program, will provide ideas on how to set up or revamp the school clinic environment so that it is a highly useful tool for fine-tuning the student’s final development into a professional.
