Video Course: Cornerstones 20: Teaching Movement and Body Mechanics – Guiding the Body in Motion

Cindy Williams

Since burnout and injury are the top reasons massage therapists leave the profession, it is essential that students are taught exceptional, self-aware movement and body mechanics. How instructors teach body mechanics can make all the difference in whether or not future professionals experience pain, injury, or burnout. The topic of body mechanics is arguably one of the most important topics taught in massage school. These skills shouldn’t be taught in just one class; to be fully embodied, they need to be interwoven throughout an entire program. This course, the 20th in Cornerstones: The ABMP Instructor Development Program, shows instructors how.
